Still a Daughter: A Brunch for Us

May 11, 2025
12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
A heartfelt brunch honoring the love, loss & legacy of our mothers—a space for grief, reflection & sisterhood in every stage of daughterhood

About This Event:

Mother’s Day can be a deeply complex and emotional time, particularly for those who no longer have their mothers physically present. In Minnesota, there is no dedicated space that acknowledges and holds this experience with care. Still a Daughter: A Brunch for Us is not a grief group, but rather a space where the full spectrum of emotions—joy, longing, gratitude, sadness, and love—can be present without judgment.

Over a thoughtfully curated brunch catered by Drez’s Kitchen, a local Black Woman-owned business created after she lost her mom, we will gather in community to share stories, engage in creative activities, and honor our mothers in ways that feel meaningful. Through storytelling, personal tributes, and hands-on activities like floral arrangements and keepsake crafts, we will reflect on the ways our mothers shaped us while also finding comfort and connection with one another.

This is a space where you can come and go as you need, engage as much or as little as you’d like, and simply exist among women who understand. It’s about learning from each other, honoring our shared and individual experiences, and creating a new way to be intentional about this day—one that centers love, healing, and remembrance.

No matter where life takes us, we are still daughters.

About Taneasha:

Taneasha Muonio is a revolutionary force at the intersection of medicine, equity, and community healing. By day, she serves as a Physician Associate (PA-C) and Equity Consultant, championing justice and compassion within clinical systems. By night, she steps fully into her calling as a community curator—crafting sacred, transformative spaces where stories are honored, grief is held with tenderness, and joy is reclaimed as resistance.

Rooted in her own lived experiences and guided by a deep commitment to collective care, Taneasha creates gatherings that are more than events—they are movements. Her work invites people to show up as their whole selves, to find liberation in authenticity, and to redefine tradition through the lens of love, equity, and remembrance.

Still a Daughter: A Brunch for Us is her latest offering—a curated space for motherless daughters to gather, grieve, remember, and celebrate. In a world that often overlooks the complexity of loss, Taneasha is building what doesn’t yet exist: spaces where community is the medicine
