Fairfield Inn & Suites Minneapolis Bloomington / Mall of America

This Fairfield needs a lot of attention. Definitely outdated in multiple aspects.
What we did LOVE was the warm indoor pool & an actual working hot tub!!! It’s so rare these days to find a hotel with a hot tub. Breakfast is great like always, very happy with the selection, enough healthy options. Parking is so so as there is barely any shade.
Also THE AIRPORT IS RIGHT THERE. We stayed on the second floor and still not enough buffering so you hear them consistently even with white noise going. Windows are very thin and likely need to be replaced (for efficiency & safety reasons).
Staff up front was great, I think it just needs some extra TLC.

The hotel was average but run down. Lights on elevators broken. Sounded like they were dying. Toilets stopped up pretty easily. Old style climate control instead of the newer more luxury thermostats in other hotels of similar price. The television had some sort of “box” on the back of it that everything plugged into. This caused my switch controllers to lag from input to television. It also caused the sound to lag behind the show. MSP is right across the highway, at another hotel almost across the street you can barely hear the jets, however here they’re sounds were abundant 24 hours a day. Lights in the room were either burnt out or just not working. Left feeling like I needed lice treatment, wife felt the same. We prepaid for 3 nights, ended up only staying one and part of day 2. Parking is paid, and not mentioned until check in, even for prepaid rooms.

Stopped in on Saturday night, Oct 19, 2024. Got there at 5:15PM, deck clerk was there, welcomed us, checked us in. Gave us a brief overview of the hotel and area, he was awesome.

Hotel is updating, we were on 3rd floor which was just renovated. Great place to stay, easy access from interstate, safe.

Pool is closed while renovation and only thing missing was bacon for breakfast (they had turkey sausage instead). Coffee was very good.

If traveling to Bloomington this is the place to stay….

My mom, sister & I stayed here at the end of July for 1 night and again at the beginning of August. First visit, we waited almost an hour for the shuttle (had to make 2nd call to verify it was on its way.) Madison checked us in and did not give us a positive first impression. We found a pair of women’s underwear folded up into the luggage stand (gross.) The bed slept well BUT my frame was several inches wider than the box spring; I hit my shin because it was covered up with the dust ruffle. ||2nd visit was better; we received a warm thank you and welcome from Angel who truly seemed to want to be there. Our 2nd room was much more updated than the first room. Kudos to Angel for her service👍🏼||FYI: The hotel is right in the path of planes taking off and next to their landing path.

I stayed at this property on the 4th of July weekend. Checkin/Check with Madison was quick and easy. Shuttle service to mall and airport was good. Hotel rooms were neat and clean. Do hear noise from airplanes landing. Breakfast was okay but can be improved with waffles and pancakes. Overall good experience

The front desk associates were friendly and helpful! The hotel is
literally across the street from the Mall of America. Complimentary breakfast was good. It needed more variety than bananas for hand-held fruit. Fresh fruit was supplied once over 3 days.
My suite was clean and nice.
