Great zoo! Bring your walking shoes; it’s HUGE. I was really impressed with how large the enclosures were. It’s beautiful with a trail that overlooks a large natural lake. We did get to see two tiger cubs; this zoo is very successful at helping breed endangered tigers. Happy to support them. Definitely family friendly too, of course.
Jack-o’-lantern spectacular was awesome! Sadly only once a year, so enjoy it while you can. The pumpkins are carved by various tattoo artists and are the most detailed pumpkins I’ve ever seen! Definitely going again next year!
A ROARING GOOD TIME AT THE ZOO MINNESOTA!
We recently spent a fantastic day at the Zoo Minnesota with our family, and it was an absolute blast! Our adventure began in the Jurassic World, where we stepped back in time and encountered incredible tropical species, including fascinating birds, mammals, and more.
Next, we dove into the Aquatic World, where we were mesmerized by the playful seals and charming penguins. The kids (and let’s be honest, the adults too!) were completely captivated by these amazing creatures.
The highlight of our day was visiting the majestic tigers – their power and beauty left us all in awe.
But the fun didn’t stop there! The kids had an absolute blast splashing and playing in the park, and the face-painting station was a wonderful touch. They left with huge smiles and memories to last a lifetime.

We had an overall enjoyable experience during our visit, although the first portion of the day left us feeling somewhat underwhelmed. For about the first 80% of the day, we found that most of the animals on display were the kind you could easily find at a local petting zoo, which didn’t quite meet our expectations for something more unique. However, toward the latter part of our visit, things became much more interesting. We were excited to finally encounter some of the more exotic animals like camels, tigers, and leopards, which made the end of the experience far more memorable and enjoyable.
The Jack-o-Lantern Spectacular was a great time. We were really impressed with the amazing talent that was evident in the carvings. They were phenomenal! Highly recommend, fun for the whole family!

It was a slow start and we wondered if the outing was a bust. If there were more lights on the walking trail the experience would be much better. If there was information about the event history, the process of carving and the artists on the lit advertising signs it would be more meaningful. But the carved pumpkins were magnificent!!! When we came to the full display we were soooooo impressed. Hats off to the artists!
The zoo is beautiful. The exhibits are very big and clean animals look happy and healthy and thriving. The map for some reason is confusing to me and I feel like it should go in one big circle but you end up walking ALOT to places that go no where. I recommend going to the right if you enter it the south entrance go to the right first where the wolves the puma the black bear is do that walk-through the air conditioning then go back to the left where the tigers are in the wild horses because that is where you will walk forever and no man’s land. If you wanna see the baby tiger cubs that were just born in May you need to go right when they first open 10 am

They offer memberships, which can be obtained either in person or online through there website! Allowing for family fun year-round. They also do have a cool separate section for just aquarium life! However, it is worth noting that the food at the zoo can be quite expensive, so bringing your own food or snacks is recommended. Personally I would also advisable to purchase tickets in advance to avoid any inconvenience. Lastly, if you have a child, bring a stroller! Learn from my silly mistake! I recommend doing it as there are many different areas to explore, both indoors and outdoors, and kids may get tired quickly, or overwhelmed. Or just want to go exploring on their own!
