Holiday Inn Express & Suites Bloomington – Mpls Airport Area W

When we arrived, there was a line to check in because they only had one person at the desk. Ended up having to wait 15 minutes just to get our room keys.

The room was clean, and the beds were comfortable. But the shower head was way too low. I am 6 feet tall and had to duck under the shower head.

Breakfast was amazing. They had tons of options to choose from and tasted great.

There are no locations nearby to get food from. You will have to travel 10 minutes out of your way to find a restaurant.

I have stayed at this hotel several times, but am disappointed to report that it is in need of some serious updates. The staff was kind and welcoming, however the carpet in the room was worn and looked dirty, the sink stopper was broken and the wall heating/air unit was very loud. On the weekend days, there was not enough room in the breakfast area for all the diners, and the staff had a hard time keeping up with all the food replenishing that was necessary. I love the location, but probably will not stay there again.

I enjoyed my stay here. The staff was friendly & accommodating when we had issues opening our door. Which is really the only complaint I had was the door was a little tricky to open. Other than that the room was clean, the bed was comfortable & the AC worked to keep the room nice and cool. I also enjoyed that it’s right across from a strip mall.

Rooms were clean, staff was kind, breakfast was good, location was great for our needs – however there were a few things that were a bit disappointing, eps around accessibility for disabled people. We were in a suite with two queen beds and a living room. The main door to get into the hotel suite was fine, but the internal bedroom door was too skinny to get the wheel chair through – so we had to aid the disabled person to their bed from the other room.

The layout of the hotel was very annoying as well – the building has two separate buildings, so the other traveling companions we had which were on the “same floor”, you had to go down from 4 to 1, and then walk down the hall, get into another elevator and go back up. And in the other tower, there were additional doors that you had to go through to get from the elevator to the hallway to the suite rooms – it was very narrow and difficult for a disabled person to navigate.

There is only one AC unit in the suite, and it’s in the bedroom – the only way to get AC to the living room space is a built in fan that is in the wall to blow the cool air from one room into the other. This resulted in having many different temperatures within the suite – too hot in one and too cold in the other at the same time.

In our suite, the bathroom fan didn’t work, so whenever you took a shower the whole suite became super humid and gross feeling. This only exasperated the suite temperature issue.

Another travel companion booked the same type of room (two queen regular suite), however they somehow put them into a junior suite. The hotel tried to make it right by giving them a second king suite for a night – which helped, but then the next day they had to all move out of the two separate suites into the one suite we should have had for the two nights.

In summary, it feels like the hotel wants to be nice, but the layout and physical structure & facilities of the building stand in the way and led to a bit of a frustrating stay. However, it’s worth saying that we still had a good time and was at a price point that didn’t leave me too upset.

We only slept here one night but were so excited about the pool. Wow was it busy though. It’s summer and the place is filled with families. There was hardly room to swim however we had one strange 20 chunk of time where we had it to ourselves (when I took a million photos)!

The breakfast here was fantastic. Warm with several options. We’ve had a 4 week-vacation and stayed in 7 hotels throughout the USA from Texas to Minnesota, all with pools and breakfast, and this was perhaps the best breakfast we had.

The room was clean, comfortable for 6, and nice though we were hardly there long enough to enjoy it! But I would stay here again. Great location and near Mall of America.

Was shocked at the size and cleanliness of the room.
They had Dove shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion all sitting out and accessible for use.
Nice just in case you forgot your own stuff.

Great service at the front desk.
Breakfast options were impressive.
There was a hot breakfast buffet set out.
Coffee, milk, tea, juice, etc.

Absolutely love their pet policy.
Pets stay for free!!
Which is very nice cuz some places want to charge you $250 mess deposit and fees… which is outrageous if your animal has any training.

We had a king suite room. The room itself was not bad. The bed was comfortable. Shower was clean. When we went to lay down at night though, we noticed a big cobweb up on the blinds. It didn’t look like anyone had cleaned them in a long time.

Positive: Location and the size of the hotel. It doesn?t feel like you have to walk 100 miles to get to your room etc. breakfast was great Negative: Breakfast was busy. They kept the food stocked. They needed another attendant just to keep the tables clean.
