Holiday Inn Express & Suites Bloomington – Mpls Airport Area W

We were surprised that the airport shuttle turned out to be an Uber ride, which was quicker and more comfortable. Staff was very friendly. The room was clean, but neither of the TVs (smart TVs) were connected to anything, the light in the bathroom flickered and the hideaway couch was pretty worn out. Bed was fine. Breakfast was good, but some of the hot items had not been replenished and never were. There was no batter for the two pancake machines. Plenty of cinnamon rolls, which were tasty, coffee was good. We’d probably stay there again for a night before or after a flight.

The reason for the three stars – the hotel was not super clean. The hotel over all was ok, the room was cleaned, but not clean. The bedding was clean and comfortable, the floors appeared to have been wiped but still had dirty corners, the carpet was not clean our socks and feet were dirty after walking around.
The tv reception or connection was horrible, weak or poor connection; or just scrambled tv. When it did work, the channels did not match up with the printed guide. (Not that we stay at hotels to watch tv, it was just frustrating).
The couch looked and felt very used! The hideaway bed, was ok. The bathroom light flickered and buzzed the entire stay. The phone in room did not work.
We were not in the room much, only in the evenings and to sleep. We were traveling with two small children. The layout of the room was perfect for what we needed. Kids had their own space in living room and we had space in bedroom.
The outside entrance door closest to our room was broken, it opened but you could not enter with keycard. There were just some wires hanging in the place where the card reader would be.
The breakfast was not great. There were many options and it was included. The staff did a decent job at keeping things stocked. It was just not very good. Typical continental breakfast, cereal, buffet omelets, microwave bacon, oatmeal, breads, pancakes- the machine broke and ran out of batter every 5-10 mins. The cinnamon rolls were the best part!
Overall, one of these issues would have not been a deal breaker. There were just many little things. The service was fantastic! Although, I won’t stay here again. With a little TLC I’m sure many things could be improved.

The room was great! It was clean and we had extra towels which was wonderful! The breakfast had a lot of variety and plenty of seating. The only problem was the pool. I’m not sure it’s even safe to swim in since you can’t see past your shoulders. Someone needs to check the ph and chlorine levels because I have never seen a pool so cloudy.

I originally booked a Park and Fly with Holiday Inn Bloomington West. After a long day of driving and getting in late, West didn’t have parking for me after all — so this Holiday Inn (South) let me transfer my rsvp. ||Stewart the supervisor was helpful . ||But Michael the front desk staff was not. ||We stayed here on both the front and end of our trip. At the end, we were so tired from traveling the last 12 hours— they put us in the pool facing room. I think the front desk should ask of that would be acceptable— because it’s not if all you want to do is sleep. My daughter was too tired to move rooms, but I’m the one who needs to sleep to drive safely the next morning. This pool is open until 11pm and it’s wild out there, people partying. ||I will not be choosing a Holiday Inn for a park and fly ever again.

Their breakfast bar is the finest, best laid out, varied food choices I’ve experienced in my travels.

The room was large and lovely. Comfortable and quiet.

I was impressed with warm welcome we received from Brian and Laura at the Front Desk upon our arrival. They were genuinely interested in our stories. Much appreciated guys!!

Should we return to The Twin Cities again in our adventures, we will certainly stay here again.

The overall stay wasn’t a bad experience but the rooms we had definitely need some TLC. Along with the pool area . We were in the rooms 250 and 252 , In room 250 the bathroom door was splitting at the seems and unlevel .. the fan to give move air flow from sleeping area was barely on . Along with couch cusions being almost non exsistant . in room 252 the fans motor to move air flow could be looked at as it was loud . The bathroom door did not lock and in room fridge was unlevel. The pool was nice but you could see the mold growing in the ceiling as there is no air circulation in the area at all. The check in clerk gave us some great food ideas and was very welcoming .

The hotel is easy enough to locate. Staff were friendly enough upon entry. We were upgraded and given the upgrade members bags. Entering the rooms our keys gave us troubles and never did work at one of the hotel entries. In one room there was Cheetos and part of a cookie on the floor that hadn’t been cleaned. There were issues with toilets in both of the rooms we were given. Staff told us they were unable to help us with one that clogged/drained extremely slow. Couldn’t even use a plunger (this included a manager) because “they didnt know plumbing”. We ended up having to change rooms to make it through the night with a working toilet. We had to take the top off the other and fix it ourselves. The bathroom lights all flickered to come on. And staff had tendencies to be short with questions. The beds were comfy and space was adequate for our needs. They told us we would get bonus points of 5000 on my account but I did not receive those.
