Hyatt Regency Bloomington / Minneapolis

I stayed here in August of 2024 after my flight home was canceled. I was grumpy and just wanted to get to my room.

The front desk was quick to get me processed, offered me some water and got me on my way. I had dinner in the restaurant downstairs. The quality of the food was great and an even better price point.
The rooms are clean, bathrooms well kept and overall well spacious.

Sorry for the late review. I am planning my summer trip next year and prepping for when my flight is canceled again. If it does, I will book the Hyatt Regency Bloomington again.

Hotel was very pretty and very clean. Enjoyable stay. Rooms were comfortable. Perfect location for our business trip. Easy parking, nicely updated rooms and building. Front desk staff very nice. Enjoyed the complimentary waters- daily.

This hotel is close to the airport and near the mall of America so for those two then use it reasonably well situated. It’s a relatively modern property with reasonable amenities. The fitness center and restaurant are adequate and it has a bar and grill that are also adequate. Rooms are clean and well appointed. ||The downside that the staff doesn’t communicate well. Even though they advertise a shuttle every half hour, count on every hour. It was 25 minutes late the day I needed to get to the airport. The driver blamed it on the front desk, not letting them know I needed to pick up. The front desk lined it on the driver for not following the route. When I needed to be picked up at the airport the staff person at the hotel couldn’t clearly speak nor did he understood the layout of the airport, so I ended up taking an Uber. Bottom line, unless you have time to burn it’s best to call a ride share.

I was traveling to Minnesota for a business trip from Florida and I found this hotel when I was booking my flight. I typically stick to Hyatt hotels because my previous day is have always been exceptional.

My check-in process was seamless and the front desk staff were nothing but pleasant. When I went to my room it was very clean and orderly as I expected to be normally.

The restaurant that they have in the hotel was absolutely fantastic. I don’t know how they cook their chicken wings here but they were the most flavorful wings I have had in a very very long time. There were crispy and sauced which is typically quite the challenge because when you sauce a breaded wing it tends to get soggy. These were not and they were cooked to perfection.

As I went to sleep I set my thermostat to 72 because I was getting a little cold in the room. As I woke up in the middle of the night I heard a loud screeching sound coming from my AC unit. I thought that maybe it was coming from outside and there was nothing I can do but it was keeping me up. I turned my AC off and the noise went away. I learned the front desk the next morning and they sent somebody to take a look.

The maintenance professional was very friendly and apologize for the issue. He diagnosed the situation and he was under the impression that he had it fixed. We tested it and everything seemed okay for a bit. I went to my meeting and came back and I left the room at 72 to make sure that that noise wasn’t going to happen again in the middle of the night. It happened right when I was going to get dinner.

I alerted the front desk again and requested to have some heavy blankets sent to my room since I couldn’t turn the heat on. They arrived very quickly.

I typically sleep well on a soft mattress with firm pillows. The mattress was firm and the pillows were soft. I always have challenges sleeping in other places but the bed itself was satisfactory for what it was.

I did bring this AC issue to the attention of the hotel manager and they did respond back apologizing for the situation. I didn’t ask for any credits or a funds or a move to a different room. It was a minor inconvenience that could happen really anywhere. I did bring the star count to four for rooms and four for service because the AC issue repeated and the initial person that came to fix it attempted to fix it but it did not resolve the situation.

Again, I had a very pleasant stay here outside of these minor issues. I highly encourage that you book here next time you fly into Minneapolis or plan to visit the Mall of America.

The room was clean and well appointed. A bit on the smaller side but I would don’t mind as long as the room is clean. If I had bed there for business it would have been a bit harder to work from the room since there is no desk. Though there is a small dining table. All of the public spaces were in excellent condition – felt luxurious.

I stayed here for a 3-day conference and was quite pleased with my stay. The room was comfortable, clean & quiet. Front desk staff was friendly & helpful. The conference rooms were clean & well-kept. The food for the conference was particularly excellent; I was pleasantly surprised. I’d recommend this hotel for anyone looking to hold a conference, but I’d also recommend it to anyone travelling to the Twin Cities. I was a solo traveler this time, but I’d definitely stay there again with my family.

I’ve stayed here multiple times. The location is great (right on the light rail line). The rooms are always clean and the staff is wonderful. The restaurant has good food and the servers/bar tenders have always gone above and beyond. I recently had a very minor issue on my last stay and when I brought it up it was fixed immediately with no questions asked. To me that’s the sign of an exceptional hotel. It’s the best airport/Mall of America hotel for the money. Also so easy to get downtown with the light rail.

What’s good: The hotel is new, mostly clean, has great easy parking and is super close to the light rail for easy access to Mall of America and downtown Minneapolis. ||What they could work out: Seems out of touch with the Hyatt Regency brand. Executive club is closed, no business center (just a sign on a desk in the lobby is the new business center), food and drink options are lacking. Rooms don’t have a desk or plug ins on both sides for phones. They also don’t offer house keeping and like many reviews things in the room were broken (coffee maker for us)||Overall: worth it if you get a deal but is basically a Hyatt Place or Hyatt House with a conference center and so they have a nicer brand. I don’t think I’d stay again.
