Walked into Capitol at right time to join a free tour. Guide was great and full of information. Building itself is full of grandeur. Cool sitting in the different chambers and the supreme court. Even had a chance to go to the top on the roof to see the golden sculptures there with a great view of St Paul. Worth the visit for sure.

Our family had an unforgettable experience yesterday at the Minnesota State Capitol. The building itself is a masterpiece of architecture, with intricate details and stunning grandeur that left us all in awe.
The free guided tour was an absolute highlight. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the Capitol’s history and design. His enthusiasm was contagious, and he had a wonderful way of engaging us. We learned so much about the building’s construction, the symbolism behind its artwork, and the role it plays in Minnesota’s government.
It’s clear that a tremendous amount of care and attention has gone into preserving this historic landmark. The restoration work is impeccable, and the building’s beauty shines through. We highly recommend taking the time to explore this architectural gem and learn about its fascinating history. It’s a must-see for anyone visiting St. Paul and Minneapolis !

This was the 32nd state Capitol I’ve visited and by far one of the best experiences! They do regular guided tours at the top of the hour, even on Saturdays, and each guide is fabulous. I say that because this was the first state Capitol tour where I went on TWO guided tours because the roof part was closed during the first tour because of standing water.

I stayed for a second guided tour with another visitor who was coming back for her FOURTH tour in two days for the same reason. It was worth the wait. Only 63 steps to the top and the view of the Quadriga and the city was amazing!

Both John and Kerry were WONDERFUL guides that know great details and have great trivia and senses of humor.

Minnesota is now in my Top Five of best Capitol tours. 10/10, highly recommend.

This was on our list when we visited Minneapolis and it did not disappoint. It was beautiful inside and out, marble columns, staircases, pieces of art. It houses the 2nd largest self-supported marble dome in the world. Great historical field trip with the family.

It is an interesting building with a huge central area, a good place to visit with family.
Surrounding grounds are good places for any event day.
Free for the public to visit, closes at 3 pm on Saturday

Congratulations to this lovely couple! Wishing them a lifetime of happiness and a joyful marriage. It was such a delightful surprise to witness their special day. Even though the sound of protestors echoed inside the Capitol, the two of them were completely immersed in their beautiful wedding ceremony.

The first place to visit in Saint Paul. The front yard frequently hosts local events, making it lively. You can take a tour to explore the area, and the view of the cathedral from the rooftop is exceptional.
