Nice family owned and operated Authentic Southern Italian style restaurant. Service was excellent and the food was terrific. Portions are a little on the smaller side but everything tasted fantastic. From the fresh baked bread to the side salads on chilled plates to the perfectly cooked pasta dishes. They also allow for vegetarian modifications. Prices are really reasonable. Dinner for two including a nice bottle of wine was under $100. Highly recommended.
Went to a place called Luna Di Luna for lunch today. It is located in Bloomington on Lyndale Ave just south a few blocks from 494. I have noticed this place for a number of years but had never tried it. It’s a quaint place, unassuming from the street. Upon entering I was taken back with how nice it is. Well decorated, cozy and quite different from the usual chain restaurants.
Our waitress may have been the owner, she takes the order and what appeared to be her husband delivered the food. We placed our order and food came out promptly.
The homemade warm bread had an amazing crust dusted with sea salt and herbs it paired well with the amazing olive oil with pepper for dipping. The Caesar salad was crisp and fresh, the Caesar dressing was creamy with a nice umami flavor and zing of anchovies. Finally the Alfredo was delivered, the pasta was perfectly al dente and the Alfredo was creamy, cheesy goodness. I am looking forward to trying the other menu items. Note the menu is quite limited, that tells me they excel on how to make these dozen or so dishes. To my friends in the Twin Cities, next time you plan to hit the OG for a Tour of Italy and the unlimited salad and breadsticks, give Luna Di Luna a try. You will not be disappointed.

Very amazing family owned business. Service was phenomenal: friendly and professional staff. The food and wine were flavorful and delicious, from the garlic bread to the dessert (I ordered a chocolate cappuccino cheesecake).
First off the employees are very kind. They are speedy but can still have a good quick conversation with you. The bread is SO good. Some of the best I’ve ever had. Then the food is just delicious! The decoration it’s just really pretty and calming. There is just a lot to see and it’s all beautiful.
Authentic Italian and homemade sangria was excellent. Fresh hot bread with perfectly seasoned olive oil. Definite hidden gem!
And it’s official. This place is the best Italian I’ve had in the states. I would post a photo but I ate it too fast. When a place smells delicious before you open the door, you know it’s gonna be good. Had the gnocchi which was delicious. The man, whom I guess is the owner, took care of me. And he was very welcoming and very nice. I will definitely be back!
