This seafood based restaurant is amazing. The atmosphere is light and full, the staff was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. We went for restaurant week and a few of our party of 7 ordered off that menu. I on the uther hand went with the Jambalaya and was not disappointed. I have had Jambalaya at Mothers restaurant in New Orleans, and this was far superior. Keep up the good work.
Stopped by for lunch. It was happy hour! We sat on the patio. Great sized patio and bar inside. We ordered drinks, I ordered the Hurricane. Very smooth and tasty. Order food. Shrimp Po’ Boy and Loster Roll sandwich. Both were very good. I love the menu-lots of variety. Great service. We will back again.
Lots of dining space. Indoor and outdoor. Friendly servers. Lobster bisque is a must try. Not the best I’ve had but it’s on my top 5 list. Lobster rolls are worth the money. Connecticut style is my fav! And you can king size it! Shrimp cocktail is a heavenly display of JUMBO shrimp! Drinks are pretty average. Not strong not weak. Friday night and Saturday nights after 10 is for you if your into live Dj and fun social atmosphere.
Enjoyed a late evening snack after a business meeting. This particular Smack Shack was very accommodating, even though we came in close to kitchen closing. They took our orders without any issues. I enjoyed a great shrimp po boy sandwich with Cajun fries. Washed it down with local St. Paul Summit favorite and a tall house margarita.
Gorgeous atmosphere! The food is awesome!! Everything was perfectly cooked and to correct temperatures. The lobster rolls, shack burger and lobster scrambled eggs were excellent choices for a meal! The cajun fries are addictingly tasty – perfect amount of zest and kick – super fresh!
Service was a little slower, but we didn’t have anywhere we needed to be, so I truly didn’t mind. It takes about 25-30 minutes to receive your food for 3 people. I will say just as a suggestion, it would probably be better to introduce servers to the customers within the first 2 minutes of sitting down. It took about about 6-7 minutes before we were greeted by our server.
Overall, happy with our visit and we look forward to returning.
We had the lobster guac, prawn boil and lobster boil, and we honestly wouldn’t recommend any of them. While the presentation was great, they were all incredibly bland as if they were boiled in plain water. Flavorless. Even adding all the Old Bay seasoning cleared butter it came with didn’t do enough. We’ve been to the original location of Smack Shack and loved it there so it seems the chef at this location is afraid of flavor. For the lobster guac, they should take a note from Cov Wayzata, theirs is incredible. We mentioned our disappointment to some of our friends and they had the exact same opinion from when they came a few weeks earlier. The atmosphere was great though, nice patio with a wonderful live jazz band. Next time we’ll go to their original location.
